Trace was born and raised in Southern California. Movement has been central to her life since the beginning: she started dance at the age of 5 and became an aerobics instructor at 17. Trace went on to study dance at the University of California, Irvine while earning her degree in Political Science. As a student in college, she had the honor of performing in the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1984 Summer Olympics in LA. After college, Trace continued to work in the fitness industry as an instructor, personal trainer, fitness director and manager. Some highlights of this chapter include working as the fitness director on the Royal Viking Sun cruise ship and managing the fitness classes and instructors for Taco Bell’s corporate fitness program.
In 1997, Trace stepped away from the industry to be a stay-at-home mom—one of the greatest joys of her life. As her daughter grew up, Trace volunteered and worked in early childhood education and office administration. After spending this precious time with her family and community, she decided to return to her first love: fitness. Originally certified as a personal trainer through the UCI extension program, Trace was recently certified by industry-leading National Academy of Sports Medicine as both a personal trainer and a nutrition coach. Today, she focuses on providing people with individual fitness programs that will serve them in their day-to-day lives. She uses her expertise to support her clients in staying healthy, strong and engaged in the activities that bring them joy. Trace continues to seek new learning opportunities in fitness, nutrition and sports medicine. She was most recently certified in Kettle Bell training and Battle Rope training.
